Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the First Lady of Lagos State, is scheduled to receive the highly anticipated title of African Iconic First Lady Of The Year at the African Iconic Women Awards (AIWRA) in 2024.
This is a token of appreciation for her contributions to the advancement of women’s and children’s rights in her home state of Lagos and its surrounding areas.
Her rise to prominence was facilitated by an online campaign that garnered support from the general electorate.
Because of the numerous empowerment initiatives she has implemented to improve people’s lives, she is adored by women in the state. Being a mother and a living example of kindness, she never disguises her affection for kids, especially those from less privileged backgrounds.
The AIWRA is organised by Face of Democracy Nigeria (FDN) and is also designed to recognise outstanding women for their contributions in peace building and national development.
Addressing newsmen shortly after the release of the preliminary list of awardees in Abuja recently, the Project Director of FDN, Alexander Ajagbonna, better known as Fajag, expressed satisfaction with the profile of award nominees.
