Divine Warnings

Divine Warnings

We frequently have a tendency to simply listen to what makes us feel good. We disregard the warnings and simply embrace the things that stroke our ego. Pontius Pilate was cautioned by the wife after she had experienced in a dream glimpses of reality that troubled her spirit. Waking up, she said to her husband, “I had a terrible nightmare about that holy man last night, so please don’t hurt him!” Pilate did not only disregarded the advice but turned over the Lord to the Priests‘ murderous wrath.

The results may be disastrous if we choose to wilfully disregard divine warnings. Interestingly, such warnings could be as simple as anything from a softly spoken advice from a friend to a stern warning from the Lord that speaks directly to our soul. The instruction could be as easy as observing some rest so as to avoid collapse, or rising up to support an oppressed person or someone in distress. When we choose to ignore, we walk straight into disobedience.

And as we walk through this week, it is important that we keep in mind that there is no warning or instruction that God gives us that is for Himself. Every warning God gives us is for our good. We should at all time remind ourselves that disobedience is extremely subtle and even the very mighty could become victim of it.

Have a blessed week!
