Djokovic’s Visa Cancelled AGAIN, Who Takes Next Australian Open Title?

TENNIS No 1; Novak Djokovic faces deportation after the Australian government revokes his visa for a second time leaving fans with the question of ‘who wins the next Australian open title’?

The decision looms large over whether the 34-year-old Serbian can defend his Australian Open title. But he can still launch another legal challenge to remain in the country.

The tennis star who was scheduled to play in the Australian Open, which begins on Monday, had his visa first revoked shortly after he arrived in Melbourne on 6 January.

Australian border Force officials said Djokovic’s had “failed to provide appropriate evidence” to receive a vaccine exemption.

This attracted lots of backlash from the Australian public, who have lived under some of the world’s longest and strictest lockdowns during the pandemic.

Djokovic was detained, spent hours at immigration control at the airport, and then spent days at an immigration hotel. Days later his visa was reinstated by a judge, who ordered his release, ruling that border officials ignored correct procedure when he arrived.

Hours later, an Australian Immigration Minister; Alex Hawke used his powers to revoke his visa.

His representatives have already said that they will appeal immediately to the court against any attempt to deport him.

As with any appeal, it would allow Djokovic to remain in the country and participate in the competition.

If he loses his appeal and is deported, he will be banned from Australia for three years.
