Donald Trump Condemns Removal Of 131-yr-old Robert E. Lee’s Statue

In reaction to the removal of a statue in Virginia, the Former President of the United States; Donald Trump has issued a statement condemning the removal of a 131-year-old statue of General Robert E. Lee in Richmond, Virginia.

According to Reuters, Trump called the Confederate commander “the greatest strategist of them all” and praising the statue’s artwork.

Trump wrote, “Just saw a giant crane bring down the magnificent and very famous statue of ‘Robert E. Lee on His Horse’ in Richmond, Virginia.” “It has long been recognized as a beautiful piece of bronze sculpture. To add insult to injury, those who support this ‘take’ now plan to cut it into three pieces and throw this work of art into storage before defacing it completely.

“Robert E. Lee is considered by many generals to be the greatest strategist of them all,” Trump continued. “President Lincoln wanted him to take command of the north, in which case the war would have ended in a day. Robert E. Lee chose the other side because of his great love of Virginia and would have won the war, leaving Gettysburg on him. Perhaps to be remembered as the greatest united power after the war ended, zealous in its resolve to bring North and South together and inspire its soldiers to do their duty in becoming good citizens of this country. Huh.”

Trump claimed that Lee was more skilled than current American generals, writing, “Our culture is being destroyed and our history and heritage, both good and bad, are being extinguished by radical leftists, and we are not going to be.” If we had Robert E. Lee in command of our troops in Afghanistan, that disaster would have ended in a complete and total victory many years ago. Is. !”

Crowds gathered around the statue on Wednesday morning, cheering and chanting, “Oh hey hey, goodbye,” as a crane lifted it off its granite pedestal. Once removed, it was seen for storage in two pieces, not three, as Trump indicated.

A 21-foot bronze equestrian statue of Lee overlooked Richmond’s major Monument Avenue dating from 1890, before being removed shortly before 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
