British singer, Ed Sheeran, has announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19, thereby cancelling all in-person shows.

The singer took to his verified Instagram page on Sunday to break the sad news, adding that he’s currently self-isolating and following government guidelines.

According to him, all his planned shows and interviews would be conducted from his home, as all in-person commitments have been cancelled.

Ed Sheeran wrote, “Hey guys. A quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for Covid. So I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines.

“means that I’m now unable to plough ahead with any in-person commitments for now, so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances as I can from my house.

“Apologies to anyone I’ve let down. Be safe everyone.”

This comes one week after the singer alongside Nigerian songstress, Yemi Alade, performed at the first-ever ‘Earthshot’ prize awards at the Alexandra Palace.
The event, which was televised on October 17, 2021, was organized by the Royal Foundation, spearheaded by Prince William, to recognise inventive solutions to the environmental problems facing the planet.
