Frank Edoho Sheds More Light On Mercy Chinwo And Eezee’s Feud

Published on

The ongoing conflict between gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her former label boss, Eezeetee, has been discussed by media personality Frank Edoho.

Speaking on TVC, Edoho clarified that the label allegedly prevented Chinwo from being booked for events since she chose not to extend her contract.

He said: “I spoke to her husband and he sat me down and we found out that some of her royalties were paid. Firstly, none of her songs are on her YouTube channel. They are on the label’s channel. She hasn’t seen the backend of it to know how much revenue was given,” Edoho said.

“I think Mercy’s husband now showed her proceeds to an artiste, that from one distribution company, this is what she made. The person told them that based on her numbers, her payment was a lie.

“So they did some findings, and asked those distribution companies to give them figures. Only one could, and that was AfriCori. AfriCori gave for the period from 2020 to 2023, I think. And the amount of money was like $800,000 and only 90 grand was given to her.

“No, not so because from the $800,000, you have to pay the distribution company. What’s remaining is probably $600,000. I saw all the documents.

“They got an audit company but the label wasn’t forthcoming and that was why they got the EFCC into the matter. The EFCC asked the label to pay her and that was when the propaganda started. They let him go and he even paid the money in two installments. But he’s still owing for that period and that’s from one company.

“Towards the end of her contract, the label said they want to extend the contract for 12 years. But she said no. So the label stopped giving events. I saw all these things.

“There’s nobody standing for her because she’s a big star and people feel she’s the one abusing power. I stepped into the matter because they’re my friends. I saw all the facts and it is not in tandem with what the speculations are.

“Mercy’s album is on Qatar Airlines, and according to her, she hasn’t been paid publishing. From inception. The label hasn’t paid her, based on publishing.”
