President Bola Tinubu is expressing his sadness and frustration over the recent abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the killing of soldiers, including Brigadier General Musa Uba, in Borno State. In a statement, Tinubu directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to visit Kebbi State to sympathize with the government and assure parents of the kidnapped girls that the government will ensure their safe release.

Tinubu commended Governor Mohammed Nasir Idris for his efforts to prevent the incident, but emphasized the need for community cooperation with security agencies to tackle the growing security challenges. “Our security forces cannot succeed in protecting us if the people don’t cooperate and share information that will help them keep our communities safe,” he said.

The President also sent condolences to the military and the families of the fallen soldiers, praying for God’s comfort. He urged community leaders to share useful information to help security agencies combat terrorism and banditry.
