I’m Not Thinking About Re-Election; Nigerians Will Thank Me – Tinubu

Published on

President Bola Tinubu believes that Nigerians will eventually thank him for all of the difficult policies and decisions that his administration is currently implementing.

On Saturday, October 5, President Tinubu made the following statement at the South-West Assembly of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Eko Hotels & Suites in Lagos.

The gathering was attended by leaders of the APC in the southwest geopolitical zone, including governors, deputy governors, federal and state parliamentarians, and past elected officials.

President Tinubu, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, stated that the current administration’s reforms have exposed the party to widespread criticism. He assured APC members that his tough decisions would put the country on the right track, and he expressed gratitude for their support.

The president also stated that he is not concerned with the 2027 election, but rather with improving Nigerians’ lives and leaving a prosperous country to future generations.

“We acknowledge that our decisions have been tough, but they needed to be taken. The gains are at the end of the tunnel. That time will come when we will all be happy and thank our government for taking those decisions. Right now, I am not thinking of the next election but about the next generation.

“This is why we are implementing reforms that are long overdue. This is the hallmark of a true leader.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
