Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has assured Nigerians that they will not have to wait more than two weeks to get an international passport henceforth.

Tunji-Ojo made this declaration on Wednesday, October 4 at a press briefing in Abuja while updating citizens on the state of passport backlog in the country.
He earlier said the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has cleared all the 204,332 passport application backlogs.
“No one will ever wait for two weeks to get passports again. If you apply and have been captured, you will get your passport within two weeks,” he stated.
The minister had on September 7, given a two-week ultimatum to the NIS to clear all passport application backlogs.
