THURSDAY OF THE NINETEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR B. – 12/8/2021

READINGS

1st Reading: Joshua 3:7-10a. 11. 13-17: The Israelites cross the Jordan dry-shod.

Resp. Psalm: 114: Alleluia!

Gospel: Matthew 18:21-19:1:How often must I forgive my brother.

REFLECTION

This is not the first time God will take the Israelites through the waters dry shod. God fulfilled His promises and brought them to the promised land, even though they failed on their part to be faithful, God is faithful forever Faithfulness requires standing firm in our faith in God and following in his path.

In following God’s path there are a lot of difficulties that we come to us and one of them is the inability to forgive someone who has hurt you. We do not have the power to forgive others. Only God can forgive. Forgiveness is a gateway to becoming what God is desire of us. We cannot quantify the mercy of God. We must be ready to forgive at all times so that the grace of God’s forgiveness can permeate our lives.

Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us….

Shalom

Fr. Osho
