Kamala Harris Shakes Off Criticism, Says ‘Ridiculous’ Headlines Won’t Distract Her

Nobody likes to be criticized not even when they are in the seat of power. But how you handle it makes all the difference.

American Vice President; Kamala Harris has dismissed negative media coverage about herself, saying she will not be distracted by “ridiculous” headlines.

Kamala Harris has been criticized for spending more than $500 on cookware during a trip to Paris last month and described as a “bully” in reports that claim high-level staff exodus from her office.

Other reports have highlighted a rivalry between her and Transportation Secretary; Pete Buttigieg over who will be the likely Democratic presidential nominee in 2024 or 2028.

She called those headlines “ridiculous” and said it was part of being a high-profile target in the Biden administration.

“There’s nothing about this job that’s supposed to be easy,” Harris told the San Francisco ChronicleIn in an interview published on Sunday.

“If something is coming to me, it is because it needs to be addressed and because, by definition, it will not be easy. If it were easy, it would have been handled before it came to me,” Harris said.

She lashed out at the coverage about the cookware.

“Oh, how about, ‘She’s going to buy a pot on her way to the airport,’ after a very important and highly successful bilateral meeting in France that is about national security, issues that It’s about the climate, on the issues, it’s about what we’re doing in terms of international norms and regulations on everything from cyber to space. Come on,” she said.

The vice president, who previously served as a US senator from California, said she looked forward to traveling across the country next year.

“I love people, and there is a lot we are doing that is directly affecting and keeping people in mind,” she said.

She explained that “two years after Covid… I think the kind of unintentional trauma people has experienced, the level of anxiety, it’s real. And I’ve always felt that as an elected leader.” My responsibility is to reach out to people, especially when their needs need to be met and they should know that they are being seen and heard.”

Harris did give a good response.

“Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising that tempt you to believe your critics are right.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Do you and ignore the critics.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
