Klopp Speaks About Liverpool’s 4-1 Loss To Napoli

Published on

After losing to Napoli in the Champions League on Wednesday, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp criticized his team, calling it the “worst” performance of his time in charge.

The 4-1 humiliation of Klopp’s team at Napoli, which would have been worse had Victor Osimhen not missed a penalty, worsened the Red’s disappointing start to the season.

The German manager acknowledged that the loss in Naples was unexpected even though he had experienced some severe defeats in the early stages of his leadership at Anfield.

According to Klopp, “It was a real horror show. It was the worst game we played since I have been here. Some will point at games against Aston Villa for example.

“But in those games, there were glimpses of us, but in this one there was nothing. We have to understand why.

“We met with the players, I watched the Napoli game a lot and we saw horrors. The players knew as well.

“Eight out of the eleven were below the level that they normally play.”
