Today we’ve got a lots of celebrations. The Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God (Theotokus), World Day of Peace, the first day and first Saturday of the New year 2022. The first of the month.
MARY, MOTHER OF GOD
Our Christian devotion on this day ought to consist, first, in the solemn consecration of the first-fruits of the year to God, and secondly, in honoring the mystery of the Incarnation of the Son of God, particularly his birth and circumcision. The Church invited us on this day to unite our homage with the seraphic ardors and transports of devotion with which the glorious Mother of God assisted at these wonderful mysteries which we commemorate, but in which she acted herself so great a part. With what sentiments did Mary bear in her womb, bring forth, and serve her adorable son, who was also her God? with what love and awe did she fix her eyes upon him? particularly at his circumcision, who can express in what manner she was affected when she saw him subjected to this painful and humbling ceremony? Under her meditation we ought to make him the tender of our homages, and with and through this holy Redeemer, consecrate ourselves to God without reserve.
WORLD DAY OF PEACE
We must remember that the world cannot give us peace except through the Prince of peace. By his suffering and death, he brought different people together. It is when we realise that we cannot create peace without God, then, we must help to bring the peace of God who forgives us our sins as an energy that extends to others. Therefore, Without God there is no Peace.
THE NEW YEAR 2022
New year! New expectations. New experiences. New opportunities is what we long for. Some of us make new year resolutions in order to boost our performance mentally or physically However, we must pray to the Heavenly Father to create a new heart within us and to renew the right spirit within us. Only when our minds and hearts are new, then the Good News can bear fruits in our lives. It is only when we keep his word then his blessings of peace comes through.
As we begin the New Year, may the Lord bless you and keep you. Make He let his face shine upon you and gracious to you. May He grant you His peace. Amen.
