The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), a South African group, has said in a statement that Queen Elizabeth was to blame for a “tragic period in Africa’s history.”
The statement was issued not long after the 96-year-old British monarch passed away.
The group stated that it does “not mourn the death of Elizabeth, because to us her death is a reminder of the tragic period in this country and Africa’s history.”
The South African group continued by describing the impacts of British colonialism on various African nations.
They said that when Britain gained control of South Africa under the direction of the Royal family, the indigenous never got to enjoy the results of their labour; instead, they were employed to enrich the British Royal family.
The group concluded by stating that “If there is really life and justice after death, may Elizabeth and her ancestors get what they deserve.”
