Michigan Shooting: Fourth Student Dies In US High School Shooting

Following a mass shooting at a high school in the US state of Michigan earlier this week, police said a fourth student has died of injuries. prompting widespread mourning and calls for an end to gun violence in the United States.

The local sheriff’s office said 17-year-old Justin Schilling died Wednesday at a hospital in Oakland County, northwest of Detroit.

The death toll in Tuesday’s shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan has risen to four.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office previously confirmed that three other students were killed in the attack, identified as Hana St. Juliana, 14; Medicine Baldwin, 17; and Tate Myere, 16. Seven others were injured, including a teacher.

Authorities also identified the suspect on Wednesday as Ethan Crumbley.

The 15-year-old high school student has been charged with terrorism, murder and several other serious crimes. Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald told reporters he was charged as an adult because of the gravity of the crime.

McDonald said, “We are accusing this person of causing death on one count of terrorism, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder, and 12 counts of possessing a firearm in the commission of a crime.” alleging that.”

She said additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues, including against both the parents of the suspect.

“To prevent the tragedies we saw on a larger scale yesterday, we have to address responsible gun ownership in this country and in Oakland County,” McDonald said.

‘Inexplicable and unforgivable’

Late Tuesday, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said the weapon used by the suspect – a handgun – was purchased by the teenager’s father a few days before the shooting.
