Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has said that after civil personnel start getting the newly agreed minimum salary, the monthly allowance of corps members will be enhanced.
In an announcement that was signed by Caroline Embu, the acting director of information and public relations for the NYSC, Brigadier General Ahmed reportedly provided the guarantee to corps members at the Sokoto State Orientation Camp in Wamakko and the Kebbi State Orientation Camp in Dakingari.
He told the corps members that their efforts are deeply appreciated and urged them to maintain their important contributions to the socioeconomic growth of the nation.
Additionally, the DG urged the corps members to maximize their service year by emphasizing self-improvement and future success planning.
He recommended that they take advantage of the NYSC’s SAED program, which provides vocational training with the goal of promoting self-reliance.
“Try to acquire skills that will enable you to create jobs and employ others instead of merely searching for jobs. Many ex-corps members across the country are thriving in their respective vocations today,” he said.
Ahmed gave the corps members comfort, telling them that the NYSC would never send anyone to a place where their safety would be in danger, and he also gave them security advice.
