Obama And Trump Share A Warm Moment At Jimmy Carter’s Funeral

All five living US presidents convened for Jimmy Carter’s funeral. On Thursday, Jan. 9, Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush attended former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral in Washington.

Obama came without his wife Michelle and went over to see the past US Presidents and Vice Presidents before the service, where they all stood to greet him.

Trump, who was seated next to his wife Melania Trump, did not stand up to greet him.

Later in the event, Obama and Trump were spotted warming up to each other and even sharing a chuckle.

Republicans Trump and Pence have had a rocky relationship since the conclusion of Trump’s first term, which lasted from 2017 to 2021. During that period, Pence remained faithful to Trump but denied Trump’s demand that he overturn his 2020 election loss on January 6, 2021, before Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol.

At Carter’s funeral on Thursday, Pence sat behind Trump in the second row, alongside other past presidents and first women.

Former Vice President Al Gore was sitting next to Pence.

As Trump joined his row ahead of the funeral, Gore stood and shook Trump’s hand, followed by Pence. Trump also extended his hand to Vice President Mike Pence.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
