PSG is said to have made an offer to sign Antonio Rudiger when his contract with Chelsea expires this summer.

The 28-year-old German defender is set to become a free agent at the end of the season after contract talks with the Blues broke down.

Real Madrid appeared to be the frontrunners to sign him on a free transfer in July, but recent Spanish reports suggest the two parties have met a roadblock in negotiations with the player.

The French club is said to have offered Rudiger £6 million per year to join Mauricio Pochettino’s side, with sporting director Leonardo eager to beat Los Blancos to the signing.

Though the players preferred destination turn out to be the Bernabeu, Rudiger may be forced to shift his focus to the Parc des Princes as a result of his failed talks with Madrid.

Chelsea, however, is still hoping to sign him to a new contract before the end of the season, with coach Thomas Tuchel desperate to keep his star center-back.

In December, the Chelsea manager said: “I cannot predict the future and I don’t know if (Rudiger’s) representatives are talking to other clubs or not.

“Of course, it is possible, it is January and he hasn’t signed a new contract with us yet but we are in communication with him, the club is in dialogue with his people.”
