Real Madrid’s Website Crashes Following Kylian Mbappe’s Signing

After Kylian Mbappe’s much anticipated transfer to Real Madrid was announced, the Spanish team’s website crashed.

On Monday, June 3, the French international was introduced as the newest player to join the 15-time Champions League winners.

In a brief statement, the club confirmed his free transfer from PSG to the Bernabeu.

The club’s website appeared to fall down due to the enthusiasm of Madrid supporters and the football community; many people who attempted to access the official website of the Champions League champions were met with an error message.

After agreeing to a five-year contract, Mbappe had to accept a significant salary drop.

Instead of earning 25 million euros net (£21.4 million) a season in Paris, the 25-year-old is expected to earn 15 million euros net (£12.8 million) at Real Madrid.

Only a few minutes after the relocation was officially announced, Mbappe shared on Instagram on Monday night, writing, “A dream come true.”

“So happy and proud to join the club of my dreams. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support.

“Hala Madrid!”

He will play with players like Brazil’s Rodrygo Goes, another new guy Endrick, and Ballon d’Or contenders Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham in the upcoming season.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
