Senator Natasha Resubmits Sexu@l Harassment Petition Against Akpabio

Published on

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has once more brought forward a sexual harassment petition targeting Senate President Godswill Akpabio for consideration by the Senate.

She presented the petition on behalf of her constituents, with Zubairu Yakubu as their representative.

After the submission, Senate President Akpabio asked if there were any legal barriers to receiving the petition. She replied that there were none. The Senate President then directed her to officially place the petition before the Senate.

The petition was afterward forwarded to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions, chaired by Senator Neda Imasuen (LP, Edo South), with instructions to submit a report to the plenary within four weeks following legislative evaluation.

Just yesterday, she had submitted the same petition, but it was rejected because it bore her signature rather than those of her constituency members.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
