The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has declared a Nigerian man wanted for shooting and injuring his wife before killing her grandmother at a home in Spring, Texas.
The incident happened on Wednesday, June 1, at 7:30 p.m in the 30120 block of Aldine Westfield Road.
According to deputies, the suspect who is identified as Obinna Igbokwe was having a fight with his wife over custody of the couple’s 3-month-old baby when the shooting occurred.
Tangela Igbokwe, his wife, was shot in the head and was reported to be in critical condition. Linda Larkins, her grandma, was also shot in the head and died at the scene.
Igbokwe aged 41, is said to have taken their son and escaped in a white Honda Accord with the license plate #KMY 0702.
“On June 1, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting a gunshot in the 30120 block of Aldine Westfield Road, Spring Texas,” the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement released on Thursday, June 2.
“When deputies arrived, they located two victims, both of whom appeared to have been shot in the head. The first victim, Tangela Igbokwe, was rushed to a local emergency center and is currently in serious condition; the second victim, Linda Larkins, died at the scene from her injuries.
“Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department” This shooting is being investigated by detectives, but the probe is still in its early stages.
“The suspect is thought to be Obinna Dwayne Igbokwe, a 41-year-old black man who escaped in a 2008 white Honda Accord with Texas license plate KMY0702 and was last seen near Interstate 45 and Highway 105.”
