TRUE PEACE AND REST CAN ONLY BE FOUND IN JESUS, THE PRINCE OF PEACE!
Our country Nigeria has ingrained in us the value of hard work and perseverance from a young age. But hard work is not just about physical labor; it is also about tough life decisions and facing the burdens of life as we grow. We encounter challenges like loss, disappointment, and financial struggles that can sometimes feel overwhelming.
Today, our world is filled with unrest – personally, emotionally, socially, and politically. We’re constantly anxious about what is said and unsaid, and how it is communicated.
But in today’s gospel, Jesus invites us to find rest in Him. Taking His invitation seriously can bring us peace in His word, His Gospel, His Truth, His Life and Death, and Resurrection.
These teachings were true in Jesus’ time, and they hold today. Loving our neighbors and enemies, showing kindness to others, welcoming strangers, and forgiving – these are the paths to true peace and rest. Embracing Christ’s teachings may seem like hard work at first, but soon we will find the yoke easy and the burden light!
