Tinubu Pleads With Nigerians Over Planned Protest

Published on

Nigerians have been urged by President Bola Tinubu to postpone their scheduled “EndBadGovernance” demonstration for the following month.

According to some sources, a statewide demonstration over the country’s economic suffering and growing cost of living is scheduled to take place between August 1 and August 10 by Nigerians organized under several umbrella organizations.

Police and other security personnel are on high alert in light of this revelation over the upcoming nationwide protest.

Tinubu exhorted young people to maintain hope and trust in his administration’s capacity to change Nigeria.

Information Minister, Mohammed Idris, spoke to journalists after a meeting with the President on Tuesday, July 23.

Idris explained that Tinubu urged the organisers of the protest to shelve the plan and await the President’s response to their complaints.

He said: “The issue of the planned protest, Mr President does not see any need for that. He’s asked them to shelve that plan. He’s asked them to await the government’s response to all their pleas. He has listened to them.

“Young people should listen to the president, and allow him more time.”

Time always seems to be flying by, with no possibility of things changing for the best. People are still suffering and we all are tired. We need a drastic change.
