Isaiah 11:1-10
Psalm 71(72):1-2,7-8,12-13,17
Luke 10:21-24

Praise be to Jesus Christ now and forever. Amen!

In today’s gospel, Jesus praises the Father, saying, “I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little ones.” (also Matt 11:25). Does this mean Christ is humbly praising Himself, since He is God, or is He showing us a pattern of prayer ? The ‘little ones’ are those who accept Jesus humbly and trust in His word, gaining access to the wisdom offered by the Holy Spirit. Psalm 119:99 states, “I understand more than all my teachers, because I meditate on your instructions.”

Through His ultimate act of love and obedience on the cross, Christ pleased the Father and reconciled humanity to God (Rev 5:9). It is through His suffering and death that we are justified. The lesson is to learn from history, obey Christ, and let the Truth set us free.

Praise be to Jesus Christ now and forever. Amen!

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
