The Kogi State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) apprehended two criminal suspects with 12 pump action rifles and 374 cartridges along the Okene/Abuja route.
Abdullahi Fakai, Commander of NDLEA Kogi State, announced this while briefing press in Lokoja.
The Commander praised his staff for quickly apprehending the individuals, saying that the command will continue to step up its efforts to bring offenders to justice.
He said, “Sagir Isiyaka, 40 years and Bello Shehu Usman 42 years were arrested conveying the rifles from Onitsha to Abuja. The case has been transferred to the Nigeria Police, Kogi State Command for their discrete and further investigation.”
Fakai, also, urged community leaders to spread awareness of the risks of drug addiction among their constituents and not just leave these duties to the NDLEA and the government.
“When you see something say something, it will enable us carry out successful operations and Stop those Criminals, Drug pushers in our society,” he said.
