The mother’s child displayed ‘signs of strangulation,’ along with a ‘big lump on her head,’ and it seemed evident that she had endured physical beatings and sexual assault.

‘I couldn’t believe what I saw in front of me. My daughter did not look like herself. She was traumatized,’ Kennibrew said.

The 10-year-old girl presented herself in the juvenile courtroom this past Wednesday, dressed in a protective face covering and a coat colored pink, while being escorted by an anonymous female figure who had pulled a hood up over her head and who moved supported by a walking stick, as covered by the outlet WOIO.

Kennibrew urged the presiding judge to avoid showing excessive mercy toward the accused individuals simply on account of their youth, based on reporting from Cleveland.com.

‘This type of behavior doesn’t deserve grace. They knew what they were doing. And they were okay with that. They even played after not caring about my baby. Remember that,’ she said.

‘[My daughter] has been going through it, and that’s how it should be for the offenders. This type of behavior doesn’t deserve grace.’

The judicial officer decided to assign the girl to supervised confinement at her residence, complete with an electronic tracking device on her ankle, while observing the absence of the girl’s guardians from the proceedings, and further mandated an assessment of her mental fitness to stand trial. An upcoming court date for her has been set for the month of January.

The nine-year-old male suspect had been expected to make his court appearance but failed to attend. His legal representative requested a postponement, citing that the vehicle belonging to the boy’s parent had suffered a mechanical failure.

The judge then arranged for the session to be moved to the subsequent week and issued a caution that failure to appear on his part would result in the issuance of a warrant for his apprehension.

Kennibrew asserted that the juvenile perpetrators grasped her daughter ‘by her hand and walked her to a field that was far away from the residence’. ‘In that field, they beat my daughter until she was unconscious,’ she said. ‘They ripped out her hair… They also shoved sticks down her throat. They stripped her naked and strangled her with her own shirt.’

She additionally stated that her daughter has been experiencing ‘behavioral problems’ stemming directly from the violent incident.

‘She is mentally not OK. Me not getting justice for my daughter makes me feel like I failed her,’ Kennibrew said. ‘I literally saw the worst thing ever! I saw my daughter unrecognizable. I couldn’t wrap my head around it.’

Kennibrew characterized the discovery as ‘unbelievable’ and maintained that, beyond suffering severe physical thrashings and having portions of her scalp removed, her daughter had also been subjected to rape.

‘My daughter was not my daughter,’ she said. ‘Her hair was scalped from her head. She had bruises and blood all over her body.

‘Her eyes were filled with blood. Her lips and mouth were filled with blood. Her nails had debris and dirt stuck in it.’
