17-year-old Nigerian Student Breaks Guinness World Records For Most Skips On One Leg

17-year-old Philip Solomon, who attends Oyemekun High School in Akure, Ondo State, has won the prestigious Guinness World Record holder for the most skips on one foot in 30 seconds.
On January 24, Solomon completed 153 skips on one leg in the allotted 30 seconds, breaking the record of 145 skips set by Rasel Islam of Bangladesh.

After a four-month period following his attempt, it was officially verified and Solomon was acknowledged for his remarkable accomplishment on Tuesday.

“Solomon was inspired by the previous holder of this record title Rasel Islam after seeing a video of his record attempt. He has been training to achieve the record and was honoured to attend a skipping world championship,” it announced on its website.

Following in the footsteps of his fellow student Gbenga Ezekiel from Ijapo High School in Akure, Solomon, a student from the same school, has now added to Nigeria’s collection of Guinness World Records in rope skipping.

Ezekiel In February, achieved the title of world record holder for the highest number of skips on one leg in one minute, accomplishing an impressive 265 skips.

Inspired by Ezekiel’s remarkable achievement earlier in the year, Solomon, a senior secondary school three student, embarked on his own record-breaking journey.
