21-Year-Old Dies Of Overdose At A Birthday Party

Three individuals have been detained in connection with the death of one Micheal Arigbabuwo, 21, who died from an overdose at a birthday party in Lagos.

Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the Lagos police, reported that the event took place on Friday, September 23, at Ikorodu.

The victim of a loud and codeine overdose apparently started struggling to breathe before being rushed to the hospital, where he was officially pronounced dead.

As a result of this, the birthday girl, Ademola Adesina, 23, and two other friends, Damilare Adelana, 23, and Abdulqudus Salawiudeen, 24, all Ikorodu residents, were arrested.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to the Ikorodu General Hospital for an autopsy.

According to the police spokesman, “Based on the information, teams of detectives visited and photographed the scene. Three young men of ages 23 and 24 were arrested.

“The suspects claimed that the deceased allegedly smoked loud and drank codeine at a birthday party of one of their friends held at Igbogbo area of Ikorodu.

“The suspects further claimed that the deceased began gasping for breath. He was rushed to the hospital but died.

“Thinking of doing drugs? Have a rethink as nothing fruitful emanates from it.

“Investigation into the case has commenced.”
