Over forty alleged internet scammers (Yahoo boys) attempted to penetrate an estate’s security on Friday night, in Abuja just 24 hours after two military officers were arrested for assaulting civilian security men in Abuja Mab Global Estate.
Around 11:45 p.m., the suspected internet fraudsters tried to gain entry into the estate but were stopped by a squad of security personnel at the gate.
The estate security refused them since they couldn’t say which house was expecting them.
Again, around 2:30 a.m., they returned with a convoy of 15 cars carrying nearly 40 yahoo boys dressed in white.
They were hostile as they sought to forcibly enter the estate, according to security personnel.
The suspected fraudsters insisted on attending a birthday celebration at a house on Gold Street, with the majority of them carrying leather bags suspected of containing deadly weapons.
Surprisingly, the mansion is close to the Democratic Arab Republic’s embassy, which is located in the estate.
The security guards were unwavering in their defiance, claiming that the house in question was a private household rather than a commercial apartment building.
The suspected fraudsters began to struggle with the civilian security officers, as they insisted that the gate be opened.
Mr. Denis Omala, the Estate’s Chief Security Officer, who was worried, had to summon all of his men, numbering up to 50, to prevent the odd men from disrupting the peace of the estate.
