7 Kids Hospitalised After Sleeping Pill Overdose

A child should never be left at home alone regardless of their age.   Seven young children including an infant and three toddlers were rushed to the hospital after overdosed on sleeping pills that were handed out by a 7-year-old at a Virginia home on Wednesday night, a report said.

When police responded to the residence within the metropolis of Hopewell at about 5:30 p.m., 4 kids, ages 1, 2, 3 and 4, had been unresponsive, WTVR said.

Three different children below the age of eight had additionally consumed the capsules, however they were awake when the police arrived, the station reported.

All seven children have been taken to a hospital, and the 2 youngest victims have been transferred to a different medical facility in critical situation, the report mentioned.

Investigators advised the outlet that the medication had been distributed by a 7-year-old who was left alone with the other kids when their grownup supervisor left the home to go to a nook retailer.

 

Hopewell is an independent city located about 20 miles outside of Richmond. It is a national historic district. The area is currently undergoing renovations, including the restoration of a Vaudeville theater from the 1920s that now houses acclaimed musical acts.

The downtown area is home to shops, restaurants, and entertainment options along the Appomattox River.

Meanwhile, the police have started an investigation on the matter.
