Published on

Most mothers feel guilty or selfish when they have spare time to rest and take care of themselves. They believe they are supposed to direct all their attention to the care of their home.

Though it is challenging to be a mother, with a list of house chores, and kids’ activities lining up for your attention. Also, If you manage a career outside the home, things could get considerably busier. Finding time for self-care often seems impossible for a busy mom. This is because family care takes up so much time and one becomes exhausted. All these make it difficult for a busy mom to take care of herself. Busy moms don’t even consider taking care of themselves, much less spend time doing what they want.

Self-care is the act of looking after your health, happiness, and well-being. While taking care of yourself may seem illogical or self-centered, it is crucial for your wellness and stress reduction.

Making self-care a priority in your life as a busy mom means deciding to get healthy.
The keys to having and maintaining good health as a busy mom are to examine your daily schedule and make attainable objectives for yourself.

But if you don’t take some time alone to rest and take proper care of yourself, you are doing yourself and your family more harm than good. A mother who loves her family and would love to carry out her responsibilities of taking care of her family with love, not out of necessity and compulsion, will take care of herself. A woman who desires to be fulfilled as a mother will take care of her health with the same level of seriousness as she takes care of the health of every other member of her family.

When you are always busy taking care of everyone and everything under your care and you neglect yourself, you will end up being a stressful, angry, and nagging mom. And your children or family members may resent you for this. This is because everyone loves to be in an atmosphere of love which your home may lack because of your constant tiredness.

Therefore, you are not selfish when you take out time to relax and take care of yourself. It is for the good of yourself and everyone in the family.
