According to Daily Trust, the State House (Aso Rock) spent a whopping N244,654,350 on the purchase and delivery of tyres in one day.

An inquiry and data acquired from GovSpend, a portal that documents Presidential Villa spending, revealed that the State House paid for an undefined number of bulletproof and Westlake tyres during President Bola Tinubu’s first year in office.

According to documents, payments for these products totalled N200,583,390, N38,070,000, and N6,000,960 on May 21, 2024.

According to the documents, Obi-Wealth Enterprises Nigeria Limited (RC-640684) received two separate payments of N200,583,390 and N38,070,000 for the purchase and supply of tyres (no stated number) for bulletproof vehicles, as well as five armoured bulletproof tyres.

According to the publication, a short scan of the Corporate Affairs Commission’s (CAC) website revealed that the firm is inactive.

Hommy & Fay Investments Limited, which operates on the CAC portal, handled the remaining portion of the procurement of an undisclosed quantity of Westlake tyres (315/80R22) for N6,000,960.

Payments for the tyres were issued within 24 hours after Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu, apologised to Nigerians for the widespread hardship.

Speaking at a ministerial sectoral report, he stated that the Tinubu-led government’s objectives were on track, despite the currency crisis and inflation, which have hampered economic progress.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
