Nigerian comedian, Bovi Ugboma has rebuilt some classrooms and staff rooms at the University Staff School, which he had attended in Benin City.
On Monday, September 12, 2022, Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor of Edo State commissioned the newly renovated classroom building and staff quarters on the school grounds.
The deputy governor afterwards turned to Instagram to commend the comedian for his admirable efforts.
He wrote, “This morning, I commissioned a 430-capacity 20-classroom and 2 staff rooms project renovated by an Alumnus of the University of Benin Staff Primary School, Bovi Ugboma. The donor is also an international stand-up comedian.
“Despite my tight schedule coupled with the short notice, I made it important to be there to encourage him and other like minds. I laud his courage and the initiative for being responsible to give back to his Alma mater.”
Bovi and his colleagues, I Go Die, I Go Save, and a large number of other dignitaries attended the occasion.
The comedian, who graduated from the institution, paid a visit there about a year ago.
Bovi sponsored a 20-classroom building with 430 seats and two staff rooms for the school.
