According to press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, the 79-year-old is having “very mild symptoms” but will continue to perform all of his duties despite being completely vaccinated and having gotten two booster shots.
She also said that the president was taking the antiviral drug Paxlovid.
However, the First Lady, Jill Biden who visited Delaware with the president, tested negative for the virus.
The president will continue to work in seclusion until his test results are negative, in accordance with White House protocol, according to Ms Jean-Pierre
She started that Mr Biden will participate in meetings through the phone and Zoom.
Dr Ashish Jha, the White House Covid coordinator, reported that the president was fatigued and had a runny nose and dry cough.
Later, Ms Jean-Pierre and Dr Jha will give a press conference.
According to Ms Jean-Pierre, the White House medical staff will notify all of the president’s close associates during the day, including any members of the press or members of Congress who were there when Mr Biden visited Massachusetts on Wednesday.
