British Youtuber Yung Filly Appears In Court Over Rape Allegations In Australia

Rapper and British YouTube; Yung Filly appeared in court in Australia to face charges of violence and rape; he was granted bail.

The online celebrity, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday and extradited to Perth, the purported scene of the crime.

According to the PA news agency, the 29-year-old made an appearance in Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday. The charges were read, but no pleas were recorded. Barrientos is charged with three charges of assault resulting in bodily harm and four counts of se*ual intercourse without consent. He is also accused of placing pressure on someone’s neck to obstruct their ability to breathe or circulate normally.

After the internet celebrity played at a venue in Hillarys, a Perth suburb by the sea, a woman in her 20s is alleged to have been se*ually attacked by him in his hotel room. It is said that the attack occurred on Saturday, September 28th.

According to the PA news agency, Barrientos was granted bail at his court appearance with stringent requirements, and a personal undertaking of 100,000 Australian dollars (€61,637.50), alongside a surety of 100,000 Australian dollars (€61,637.50).

The matter is scheduled for a committal mention on December 19 at 9.30 a.m. in Perth Magistrates Court. The Western Australian government released a press statement stating that the “investigation is ongoing and Se* Assault Squad detectives urge anyone with information relating to this matter, or any other crimes, to come forward.”

Barrientos is well-known for his work with the YouTube collective Beta Squad and has made appearances on other BBC shows. While on tour in Australia, the rapper represented England on Soccer Aid and Channel 4’s The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C).

In addition, he hosted the BBC series Hot Property and the spin-off show Munya And Filly Get Chilly With Wim Hof, which starred comic Munya Chawawa. Alongside fellow online celebrity Chunkz, real name Amin Mohamed, he won best media personality at the 2021 Mobo Awards.
