CBEX: EFCC Declares Eight Wanted

Published on

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a wanted notice for four individuals linked to an alleged multi-million naira fraud involving the Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX), a digital trading platform.

The accused, named as Adefowora Olanipekun, Adefowora Oluwanisola, Emmanuel Uko, Johnson Okiroh Otieno, Israel Mbaluka, Joseph Michiro Kabera, Serag Michiro, and Seyi Oloyede, are alleged to have masterminded fraudulent schemes that reportedly caused substantial financial losses for unsuspecting investors.

In a public announcement shared across its official social media channels on Friday, the anti-graft agency urged citizens with valuable information regarding the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward.

The EFCC underscored its dedication to pursuing individuals engaged in cyber-related financial crimes, particularly within the fast-expanding digital asset sector.

“The public is hereby notified that the persons whose photographs appear above are wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX),” the agency said.

Earlier in April, the digital asset trading platform “collapsed” and subsequently wiped out over N1.3 trillion from investors’ wallets, leaving many Nigerians in financial distress.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
