The Central African Republic’s Prime Minister Firmin Ngrebada who was appointed to the position in the year 2019 during the peace deal announced his resignation and that of his government today Thursday, June 10th, 2021. His resignation came at a very stormy time in Bangui, following the announcement of the suspension of military operations with the Central African Republic. With these developments and other turbulent happenings in recent times, the peace deals of 2019 in Khartoum seem to be utterly collapsing.
Ngrebada disclosed this through a tweet on his Twitter page. He wrote that he had “presented (his) resignation to the president,” Faustin Archange Touadera, but presidential spokesman Albert Yaloke Mokpeme told AFP that he may be asked to stay and form a new government, this is yet to be concluded.

“I have just handed over to His Excellency the President of the Republic His Excellency Pr Faustin Archange Touadera my resignation and that of the government.”
Reacting to the announcement of the resignation of the Prime Minister, the spokesman for the president, Albert Yaloke Mokpeme, in a statement with AFP, said that he may be asked to stay and form a new government.
Mokpeme said;
“We will know within a few hours if the president keeps the Prime Minister on.”
It is speculated that this might be based on critics’ actions, who have been calling for Ngrebada’s removal when President Faustin Touadera was sworn in for another five-year term in March. This is due to Russian’s increased influence and strong concerns by some of the citizens about the prime minister’s ties to Russia.
We await the announcement from the Presidency on either the Prime Minister will be allowed to leave immediately or stay back to properly form another government before exiting his position.
