Chelsea Completes Deal To Sign Christopher Nkuku

Published on

Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku has reportedly signed a pre-contractual deal with Chelsea after allegedly undergoing a secret medical with the Blues last month.

Despite spending $272 million on players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kalidou Koulibaly, Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana, the French man has already emerged as Chelsea’s top transfer target.

According to the Athletic, Nkunku has agreed to join the Blues, and owner Todd Boehly is willing to pay his full £53 million release clause now to give them an advantage over their rivals.

Sportsmail reported last week that Nkunku and a Blues orthopedist conducted medical tests in Frankfurt in September in preparation for a potential transfer to Chelsea.

The 24-year-old had a remarkable season last year, making 52 appearances across all competitions, scoring 35 goals and assisting 20 more on his way to winning the Bundesliga player of the year awards.
