A cleaner named Faiza Abdulkadir, who returned N4.8 million erroneously deposited into her bank account, has received a N2.5 million reward from an anonymous “good Samaritan.”

The president of Da’awah Wal Irshaad Women Organisation in Borno State, Aisha Muhammad Aisami, handed over the N2.5 million cheque to her in Maiduguri on Monday, September 1.

Aisami explained that the donor, preferring anonymity, came across Faiza’s story online and contacted the organization to locate her and offer the reward.

In response, Faiza expressed gratitude to the donor and the Da’awah organization for enabling the donation, urging others to uphold God-fearing values and maintain moral boundaries.

“If you fear God, anything that doesn’t belong to you would not attract you. We should always prepare for eternal life, hereafter, not to be deceived by the worldly gains that are temporary,” she said.

Faiza, employed as a cleaner at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital with a monthly salary of N30,000 and responsible for supporting her five children and elderly mother, had previously received a N1 million gift, along with food items and vocational skills equipment, from the state government. This earlier gift was presented last week by Borno State’s First Lady, Dr. Falmata Babagana Zulum.

The state Commissioner of Women Affairs, Zuwaira Gambo, praised Faiza’s action as exceptionally rare, given her financial difficulties.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
