Former Manchester United Striker, Cristiano Ronaldo will agree to a two and half year deal with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr on January 1st, according to reports in Spain.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner will reportedly earn up to €200 million (£172 million) per season under the terms of the deal, which is believed to be one of the biggest in sports history.

A news outlet, MARCA reported that Ronaldo will likely sign the contract with the Saudi Arabian team at the beginning of the next month.

According to MARCA, the initial deal will be worth about $100 million (£86 million), but it will be boosted by subsequent agreements like advertising and sponsorship partnerships.

The Portuguese International became a free agent at the end of last month after his debatable interview with English journalist, Piers Morgan in which he criticized Manchester United, the owners, former players and the current manager, Erik ten Hag.

Al-Nassr is one of Saudi Arabia’s most stable and successful club. They have won the nation’s top division nine times, with their most recent victory happening in 2019.

The Saudi giants also presently boast a few notable former stars, like former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina, Brazilian midfielder Luiz Gustavo, and Cameroonian attacker Vincent Aboubakar, who scored a goal at the World Cup last week that was a strong candidate for goal of the tournament.
