 RPGS CULTURAL DAY:

We all know that Nigeria is a very rich social center with diverse groups. Yeah….you can say that again!

It’s quite amazing how Nigerians with so many tribes and ethnic groups get along so well. Even as kids, we learn to express ourselves with our peers without getting to bother about the next person’s ethnicity.

That brings us to the amazing event that took place today at a private school in the heart of Lagos Nigeria.

The Redeemers Praise Garden Nursery and Primary school celebrated their Cultural Week with the grand finale that took place 2 July, 2021.

The pupils of the school which is located at 35/37, Durojaiye Street, Lawanson, Surulere, celebrated different ethnic groups in Nigeria with colorful and beautiful attires. Not forgetting the dance steps from different tribes in the country ranging from Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, Akwa-Cross, the Niger Deltans, Edo, etc.

Each child not bothered about the worrisome issues of diversity in the country looked very happy as they joyfully participated in the event.

As the saying goes “a people without the knowledge of their history, origin, and culture are like a tree without roots”.

The head of school and the teachers during the week helped out in teaching the pupils the beauty of their heritage.

The highlight of the event was an infusion of Texas and Indian culture. Oh my…What a powerful Combo!

The kids really deserve lots of accolades👏. They were well-coordinated and well trained. Kudos to all the teachers!

To cap up the event, parents were tasked to prepare different dishes to spice up the celebration. Hhmmm….trust Naija Mom’s, the aroma from different dishes from various ethnic groups filled the air as many did have a taste from lots of dishes on display.

The picture says it all, Nigeria, a country with over 250 different ethnic groups is blessed even with its diverse cultures.

Am a proud Naija babe and my best attire for the event is the Igbo and Indian attire. But for now, whenever you see me around just tell me ‘Namaste’! 😂

Which is your best attire? Kindly drop your comments with us.
