Daughter Of Malcolm X; Malikah Shabazz, Found Dead

Malikah Shabazz, the daughter of civil rights icon; Malcolm X, was found dead in her New York City apartment on Monday according to police.

New York City Police Department (NYPD) says, Shabazz, 56, was found inside of her Midwood home on East 28th Street by her daughter.

The city’s medical examiner responded to the scene, and said the incident was not deemed suspicious. A cause of death has yet to be determined.

Shabazz’s death comes just days after two men were exonerated in the 1965 assassination of civil rights icon Malcolm X, after a nearly two-year-long re-investigation. Shabazz, one of twins and one of six siblings, was born after their father was slain.

Bernice King, daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., took to Twitter to reaction to Shabazz’s sudden death, she wrote: “I’m deeply saddened by the death of Malikah Shabazz.”
