Davido, a Nigerian singer, has joined the Recording Academy in advance of the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The vocalist will now be involved in the Grammy awards’ selection process. According to the Afrobeats artist, his acceptance into the Recording Academy was “a gamechanger.”

“I have learned that voting empowers you to have a say in what is considered and voted on in each season,” he stated in a video broadcast.

“I am honored to be a member of the esteemed Recording Academy and am looking forward to voting,” he continued.

Davido lost every category at the 2024 Grammy Awards, despite receiving his first three nominations.

His collaboration with Chris Brown and Lojay, “Sensational,” which was nominated for Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammys but lost to Tems’ “Love Me Jeje,” was his fourth nomination.

Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement! Wishing you continued success.
