Eight Arrested For Ritual K!lling Of Six-Year-Old Boy In Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command has apprehended eight individuals suspected of ritualistic activities in connection with the abduction and murder of a 6-year-old boy, Muhammad Ibrahim Bulama, in Bura-Bunga village, Bojude District, within Kwami Local Government Area of the state.

DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the command’s spokesperson, revealed this in a statement issued on Friday, April 25, noting that the suspects admitted to killing the boy for the purpose of a money ritual.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the horrific crime was orchestrated by the boy’s father, who remains a fugitive.

“The Gombe State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of a tragic and deeply disturbing criminal case involving the alleged abduction and gruesome k!lling of a six-year-old boy, Muhammad Ibrahim Bulama, a resident of Bura-Bunga village via Bojude, Gombe State by eight suspects, where the suspects confessed to have committed this heinous act for money making purpose money ritual,” the statement read.

The suspects were named as Magaji Adamu (Wazam), 45 years, of Bura-Bunga village via Bojude, Babayo Musa, 18 years, of Bura-Bunga village via Bojude, Jibrin Muhammad (Alias Ya’Haji), 40 years, of London Maidoruwa Quarters, Gombe, Usman Abubakar Khalla, 37 years, of Tappi village, Sadam Umaru, 28 years, of Tudun Wada Quarters, Gombe, Idris Dayyabu, 45 years, of Kwami LGA, Gombe, Abdulrauf Hussaini, 33 years, of Kwami village, and Isiyaku Muhammad, 39 years, of Dirri village via Bojude.

In mid-February 2025, the victim’s grandfather noticed the boy had not slept at home, prompting immediate concern and initiating a search.

Regrettably, the child’s whereabouts remained unknown until April 18, 2025, at approximately 1100hrs, when Ibrahim Bulama, the boy’s grandfather, filed a formal complaint at the Bojude Divisional Police Headquarters.

Subsequently, two suspects were arrested and handed over to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad for further investigation.

Based on reliable intelligence, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Squad took swift action and successfully apprehended an additional six suspects linked to the horrific crime.

Preliminary investigations disclosed the following:
(a) Magaji Adamu “M” confessed to receiving the victim from Babayo Musa and slaughtering him with a knife in the bush area of Wuro-Doya, then dividing the body into two equal parts and dumping the upper half (from waist upwards) into a well. Thereafter, he handed over the other half (from waist downward) to Jibrin Muhammad and Usman Abubakar.

(b) Babayo Musa confessed to abducting the victim from his grandfather’s house at around 1730hrs and assisting in the killing in Bura-Bunga village alongside Magaji Adamu.

(c) Jibrin Muhammad (Ya’Haji) “M” and Usman Abubakar “M” were arrested in Gombe town at London Mai Doruwa. They confessed to collecting the lower part of the victim’s body from Magaji Adamu and an accomplice identified as Gimba, who is currently at large.

(d) Sadam Umaru “M” played a conspiratorial role by providing information on locating a native doctor and facilitating the acquisition of human parts.

(e) Idris Dayyabu “M” and Abdulrauf Hussaini “M” are native doctors who confessed to requesting human parts to perform the ritual, taking possession of the victim’s remains, removing flesh from the lower body, and burying the rest.

(f) Isiyaku Muhammad was arrested for criminal conspiracy and concealment, having known about the crime but failing to report it until he was implicated during the investigation.

It is noteworthy that the aforementioned Gimba “M,” who is currently at large, is the boy’s unwed father and the mastermind behind the killing of the six-year-old for a money-making ritual.

The Command assures the public that a thorough investigation is underway to ensure all individuals involved in this gruesome act, including those still at large, are brought to justice.

“The Commissioner of Police, Gombe State Command, CP Bello Yahaya psc+, urges residents to remain vigilant and continue to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that can aid in combating criminal activities across the State.”
