FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Shares His Thoughts on Transitioning into Pastoral Life

Published on

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has said that he is unsure if he will ever be able to serve as a pastor.

Wike acknowledged that he does not have the calling to be a preacher and made the statement on Wednesday during the commissioning of the Ikot-Esu-Otomo-Azumini road in Akwa Ibom State.

He urged Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State to keep praying for him.

Continue to do good, forgiveness is not a weak point, rather it’s strength. It doesn’t matter what happens, relate with people who have helped you before, it does not mean that you are weak but you have taken a decision to move Akwa Ibom forward and that’s the decision that I will continue to support you,” Wike said.

He said: “But all those you relate with, continue to give them their respect, you are a humble man, you are a man of God and allow those of us… the truth is that me, I don’t know if I can be a pastor.

“It takes a man of strong character and continue to pray for me because God has given it to you, but me, I will continue to support you.

“So, you that God said you should be praying, pray while I will continue to support you. The politics I believe is that you do for me, I do for you, you fall for me, I fall for you.”
