Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.”…(Joshua 5:9).

Tears-filled eyes, an ugly past and an uncertain future are the hallmarks of a life repressed and subdued by shame, disgrace and humiliation. But God says, “I AM the reproach breaker.” Whatever the weight, your fears or anxieties, shame will never again know your dwelling. For Israel, there was a clean break from the reproaches of Egypt, and for you, you will never again remember the shame of your youth.

“Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more (Isaiah 54:4). Some things really come to threaten our peace, but this week, God is stepping in for you and preventing your fears from coming to pass. Break forth into singing for your warfare is ended; your sad days are gone and your sins are pardoned (Isaiah 40:2).
