The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has issued a critical warning to residents of flood-prone communities in Adamawa State, Nigeria. As of August 13, 2025, the water level at Bakin Kogi, Jimeta, has surpassed the warning threshold of 6.0 meters, posing a heightened risk of overbank flooding.

Current Water Level: The water level has exceeded 6.0 meters, with discharge rates from upstream sources exceeding 3,222 cubic meters per second.
Affected Areas: Low-lying parts of Jimeta and surrounding communities are under immediate threat.
