Gunmen Kidnaps Four Reverend Sisters In Imo State

Four Reverend sisters of the Catholic Church from Imo State have been kidnapped by gunmen who are causing chaos in the southeastern region of the country.

According to reports, the event happened on Sunday morning while the victims were on their way to church along the busy Okigwe-Enugu Road.

In a statement, Sister Zita Ihedoro, Secretary-General of the Sisters of Jesus the Saviour, disclosed the incident.

According to the statement, the victims’ names are Sis Benita Agu, Sis Christabel Echemazu, Sis Liberata Mbamalu, and Sis Johannes Nwodo.

The sisters pleaded with all religious practitioners in the nation to pray for the victims’ speedy and secure return.

According to the statement, “Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, it is with great pain that we bring to your notice the kidnapping of four of our sisters mentioned above.

“The sad event of their abduction occurred around Okigwe-Umulolo area this morning shortly after the sisters were on their way to thanksgiving mass of our sister.

“We implore for intense prayer for their quick and safe release. May Jesus the savior listen to our prayers and may our mother Mary intercede for the unconditional release of our dear sisters.”
