Herdsmen Kill Benue Graduate While He Was At His Farm

Two farmers were killed by herdsmen in the Onipi hamlet in Adoka District, Otukpo Local Government Area, Benúe State.

One of the fatalities has been identified as Inalegwu Edri Justice, an engineering graduate who, according to acquaintances, worked hard to complete his education.

According to residents, several farmers were injured in the attack, which occurred on Tuesday morning, March 19, 2024. Some went missing.

According to the villagers, the victims were working on their crops when the intruders struck.

Alfred Oketa Omakwu, Caretaker Council Chairman of Otukpo LGA, confirmed the deaths of two farmers to the Daily Trust over the phone.

Omakwu reported that 12 individuals were injured during the incident and sent to the hospital for treatment, while tricycles loaded with yams were burned along the farm road.

He stated that this was the first time the Onipi village had been attacked.

Meanwhile, Comr Succeed, a friend of the deceased, uploaded a snapshot from their chat on Monday in which he complained about the herdsmen’s invasion.
