Hijra: Pray for peace, prosperity of Nigeria, Gov Bago tasks Muslims

Niger State Governor, Hon. Muhammed Umaru Bago, has advised the Muslim Ummah to sustain their prayers for a peaceful and prosperous society.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the Governor extended his heartfelt congratulations and warm wishes to the Muslim Ummah worldwide on the occasion of the new Islamic Year (Muharram 1, 1445 AH).

Governor Umaru Bago stated that the new Islamic Calendar symbolizes a time of reflection, renewal, and spiritual rejuvenation. It serves as a reminder of the values of unity, faith, and perseverance that continue to guide and inspire Muslims across the globe.

He urged them to continue praying for peace, tranquillity, and economic development, both within Niger State and throughout the country as a whole. The Governor acknowledged that Nigeria is currently facing numerous challenges that require divine intervention in addition to human efforts.

The Governor emphasised the importance of Muslims living their lives in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and Hadith.

Furthermore, Governor Umaru Bago assured the people of his administration’s unwavering determination and commitment to building a New Niger.

He called on them to utilise this period to pray for the leadership of the country at all levels, hoping they would succeed in finding lasting solutions to societal challenges.
